Thank you for joining me on this journey. This is a journey of patience, perserverance, love, understanding, community, family, children, parenting, and navigating the NICU with a prematurely born child. Throughout this journey, I hope to examine life (my life, as well as life itself) with a newfound lense of appreciation, determination, and resilience. As you take this journey with me (vicariously), I hope to be open and honest with you – and believe me, you will want to buckle in as parenting a newborn in the NICU is an ever-emotional journey.
“Velociraptors in the Attic” came to me one evening while Mom and I were visiting Baby in the NICU last week. My anology is that babies in the NICU are like baby Velociraptors: their desire, drive, and motivation to just be alive is akin to the hunger, drive, speed, and motivation to exist as that of velociraptors (you’ve seen the movies!). All of the amazing “Velociraptors” share space along with Baby in the NICU on the 4th floor of the hospital – hence “Velociraptors in the Attic”.
Thank you for joining me for what can only be described as an “undescribable future” filled with laughter, happiness, struggle, pain, joy, and parenthood. Stay tuned for more!!!! –>
